Abstract
Abstract. The article deals with the role of independent work in teaching students of technical universities. The basic methods, technologies of independent work are shown, including the basic principles of distance learning of students in conditions of necessity of search of new technologies and approaches for the organization of their independent work. The authors come to the conclusion that it is necessary to carefully approach the selection and content of educational material and conditions for the successful implementation of distance learning for professionally oriented Russian students.
