Abstract

The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the picture of atypical joint attention on a sample of children with different forms of developmental disabilities. A comparative study of a sample of typically developing preschool children with groups of children with atypical development aged 5 to 7 years (N = 90) was performed. The situations of real interaction between the child and the adult were used, and using the eye tracking method, markers of joint attention were recorded in real time. The manifestations of the deficit of joint attention, which impedes the involvement of a child with an adult in dyadic (bilateral) interactions, are necessary for the comprehensive development and education of the child. The specificity of the functional organization of oculomotor activity as an indicator of the child’s participation in joint attention is highlighted. Markers that can reliably predict the development of joint attention deficit have been identified by eye tracking. The universal symptoms of joint attention disorders for different clinical groups are systematized.
