ANXIETY AND FEARS IN MASTURBATING PRESCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE CONTEXT OF PARENTING STYLE
УДК 159.9
Abstract
Introduction: the article discusses the results of a study of anxiety and fears in preschool children practicing masturbation. Masturbation can be a natural manifestation of curiosity, an age norm, but it can be a consequence of high anxiety and fears and is aimed at self-satisfaction. An increase in the frequency of masturbation can lead to disruption of harmonious psychosexual development. The reasons for the increased frequency of masturbation may be anxiety and fears that arise as a result of disharmonious parenting strategies. Materials and methods: based on the results of questionnaires, conversations with parents, and observations of children, a sample was formed, which included parents and preschoolers. The following methods were used for diagnosis: the test of A.I. Zakharov and M.A. Panfilova "Fears in houses"; the anxiety test of R. Temml, M. Dorki, V. Amen, adaptation by R.S. Nemov; "Interview with a child" by A.I. Zakharov; the method of S.S. Stepanov modified by I.I. Makhonina "Strategies of family education". Methods of mathematical and statistical data processing are applied: average value analysis, Spearman correlation analysis. Results: the study examined the relationship between anxiety and fears in preschoolers practicing masturbation and parenting style. A high level of anxiety and fears among preschoolers was revealed. It is shown that the leading are the indifferent and authoritative parenting styles of preschoolers. The contradictory behavior of parents can contribute to increased anxiety and fears among preschoolers. Based on the results of the study, the corrective program "Turn on the sun" was developed and tested, aimed at reducing anxiety and fears among masturbating preschoolers, and recommendations for parents were developed. Conclusions: the article shows the importance of reducing anxiety and fears in preschoolers, forming trusting relationships in the family to create a safe space, which will help reduce cases of masturbation aimed at complacency.
