SELF-FOCUSED ATTENTION AT SOCIAL ANXIETY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE BRAIN LATERAL ORGANIZATION TYPE
Abstract
The article deals with the problem of psychological mechanisms of social anxiety. The connection between neuropsychological parameters and metacognitive beliefs as strategies of social anxiety regulation in public speaking situation is studied. It is shown that the features of social anxiety and the style of metacognitive regulation in the predominantly right lateral profile differ from the specifics in the predominantly left lateral profile. Self-focused attention as the main mechanism of development and maintenance of social anxiety differs in different profiles of the lateral organization types.
