EGALITARIAN ATTITUDES AND INTERCONNECTED GENDER TRAITS IN BOYS AND GIRLS
УДК 159.9
Abstract
This article delves into the contemporary issue of gender identity and interpersonal dynamics among boys and girls holding egalitarian views on gender roles, where both professional and family aspects are deemed equally significant for men and women. The research employed the "Distribution of Roles in the Family" questionnaire, the BSRI gender roles questionnaire, and conducted correlation analysis using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Findings indicated a prevalent inclination towards egalitarian attitudes among young individuals. Notably, girls exhibited more masculine traits within their gender identity structure, which they were reluctant to relinquish. In contrast, boys, while initially displaying masculine traits in their gender identity, showed a tendency to adopt feminine characteristics over time.
