TOBACCO PREVENTION AMONG ADOLESCENTS: A REGIONAL ASPECT

Abstract
The article presents a case study on socio-pedagogical initiatives aimed at preventing nicotine addiction among high school students in the city of Ulyanovsk and the Ulyanovsk region. Through a comprehensive examination, analysis, and evaluation of the situation, the article underscores the importance, relevance, and timeliness of implementing a student project focused on tobacco smoking prevention among adolescents. The project's primary objective was to educate students and their parents about the dangers of smoking and reduce tobacco consumption among participants through a series of structured activities, including diagnostic assessments and corrective interventions. Throughout the project's execution, various tools were employed to diagnose nicotine addiction and gauge attitudes towards health as a newfound literacy. Additionally, mechanisms such as an educational toolkit for teachers to engage with students and parents were developed, alongside informational products like booklets, memos, videos, presentations, and lectures. These resources were designed for dissemination and replication among key stakeholders, particularly educational organizations involved in youth development.
