AUTHENTIC "SELF" OF INTERNET USERS IN THE CONTEXT OF INTERACTION WITH VIRTUAL SPACE

Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of the relationship between virtualization and the authentic "I" of an Internet user in the context of interaction with virtual space. The transformation of personal structures under the influence of virtual space is analyzed, leading to a discrepancy between real and virtual identity. Authenticity is considered as a key factor in psychological well-being, including conscious adherence to personal values and acceptance of responsibility for choice. The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze the patterns of the relationship between virtualization and the authentic "I" of an Internet user in the context of interaction with virtual space. As empirical methods, the author's questionnaires were used, as well as techniques that allow identifying the features of authenticity components, the level of clarity of the self-concept. The results obtained make it possible to identify a close relationship between the degree of involvement of an individual in virtual space and the processes of his or her self-identification, which directly affects the formation of a person's ideas about his or her true "I". The optimal level of interaction with the digital environment helps to preserve the authenticity of the individual, allowing one to maintain individuality in the conditions of a virtual society with its numerous norms and standardized models of behavior. Intensive immersion in the virtual environment has a dual character: on the one hand, it opens up opportunities for self-expression and the realization of the true “I”, on the other hand, it can lead to the loss of authenticity through the adoption of ready-made template identities.
