Abstract

This article explores the correlation between the digital competencies of secondary school students and the components of an empathic culture. To assess the students' level of digital competencies, diagnostic assessments were conducted based on independent evaluations of their ICT competence, digital literacy, and understanding of informatics subjects within the Moscow Center for Quality Education (MCQE). The empirical study revealed strong correlation coefficients between the students' digital competencies, as evaluated through the MCQE assessment, and the empathy components outlined by Batchelder. The analysis of the study results involved qualitative and quantitative interpretations, mathematical and statistical data processing, and graphical representation. The Pearson correlation coefficient was utilized for statistical analysis, indicating a linear relationship between the measured variables. This coefficient provided a correlation measure suitable for continuous variables within the same sample, shedding light on the interconnectedness of digital competencies and empathic culture components.
