PREDICTORS OF DIFFICULTY OF INSTALLING JOINT ATTENTION EPISODES BY PRESCHOOLERS

Abstract

The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the deficit of joint attention in a sample of children with different forms of developmental disabilities. The sample consisted of 90 typically developing preschoolers and preschoolers with atypical forms of development. In the experimental situation of the real interaction of the child with an adult and with the help of an IT tracker, it was possible to fix eye movements as a marker of joint attention in real time. The specificity of the functional organization of oculomotor activity as an indicator of the child’s participation in joint attention is highlighted. Markers of impaired reaction to eye contact and destruction of the processes involved in the joint attention are highlighted: the number of fixations, the time of fixation on a relevant and not relevant object. The specifics of the search time in various areas, the subject of interest, the start time of fixations and the duration of fixations on the target objects of interaction as key characteristics of the predictors of establishing episodes of joint attention are analyzed.
