PSYCHOLOGICAL MARKERS OF WOMEN’S MIDLIFE CRISIS

Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate indicators of midlife crisis experiences in women aged 35 to 45. A sample of 60 women participated in the research. Psychodiagnostic tools utilized included the "Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale" by S. Lovibond and P. Lovibond, a method for assessing subjective loneliness developed by D. Russell and M. Ferguson, a rigidity measurement technique by G. Eysenck, the "Life Satisfaction Index" adapted by N.V. Panin from B. Newgarten, and the "Meaningful Orientations in Life" scale by D.A. Leontyev. Statistical analysis was conducted using Spearman correlation analysis. The findings revealed that a significant number of women undergoing a midlife crisis reported dissatisfaction with their lives, experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness. They also expressed a lack of purpose in life, discontent with their past and present situations, and a lack of future goals. Conversely, another group of women indicated psychological comfort. The study demonstrated a strong correlation between elevated levels of depression, anxiety, stress, loneliness, rigidity, and reduced life satisfaction and sense of purpose, highlighting these factors as interconnected psychological markers of midlife crisis experiences in women.
